Possible Arrest of Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s Wife: Sources Report
Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is currently jailed, might face arrest in the near future, according to sources. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is reportedly scrutinizing certain evidence that, if validated, could lead to a change in Bushra Bibi’s legal status from a witness to an accused.
Scrutiny of Financial Transactions
The focus of the NAB’s examination centers around alleged financial transactions involving Bushra Bibi. If these transactions are proven to be illicit, it could lead to her arrest, as per a report by The News.
Link to Farah Shahzadi’s Alleged Corruption
Recent media leaks and press conferences by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) concerning Farah Shahzadi have added to the complications for Imran Khan. Farah Shahzadi, also known as Farah Gogi, is allegedly linked to both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in corruption activities.
NAB’s Accelerated Probes
The NAB has expedited its investigations into Imran Khan’s alleged corruption cases, including the Toshakhana case and a case involving the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA). The NCA’s 190 million pounds case is also known as the Al-Qadir Trust case.
Potential Filing of References Against Imran Khan
The sources suggest that the Bureau may soon conclude these investigations and decide on filing references against Imran Khan. This development comes amid various allegations of corruption against key figures linked to Imran Khan’s tenure as Prime Minister.
Government Sources and PML-N’s Press Conference
TV channels have reported allegations of corruption against Farah Shahzadi, citing government sources. PML-N’s Atta Tarar held a press conference detailing these allegations. It is claimed that Farah Shahzadi’s assets, both declared and non-declared, increased by a significant amount between 2017 and 2020.
The situation surrounding Bushra Bibi and the associated investigations into Imran Khan’s alleged corruption represent a complex and evolving legal and political scenario in Pakistan.
