Police Seize Notorious Drug Peddler’s Rs 12 Lakh Property in South Kashmir
On Monday, law enforcement took action by seizing the residential property of a notorious drug peddler in the Awantipora region of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.
The two-story residence, reportedly owned by Bakhtawar Makroo from Gulzarpora Awantipora, has been identified by the police as belonging to a notorious drug peddler. Valued at nearly Rs 12 lakhs, the property has been confiscated under section 68-F of the NDPS Act 1985. Authorities claim that their investigation revealed the illicit acquisition of the sealed residential house through illegal means, specifically involving the trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the property owner.

The accused individual has a history of involvement in various drug peddling cases, with two FIRs already lodged against him at the Awantipora police station. Having faced arrests in both 2017 and 2022 on charges related to drug peddling, Bakhtawar Makroo is a repeat offender in the eyes of the law.
