Police Resolve Samba Hit-and-Run Case: Vehicle Seized, Driver Arrested

Samba, July 30: Authorities have successfully resolved a hit-and-run incident that occurred on June 22, 2024, on the National Highway at Badheri Supwal.

The accident involved an unknown vehicle that struck a pedestrian, Sunil Kumar, from Bikaner, Rajasthan. Following the accident, the driver fled the scene.

A case (FIR No. 171/2024) under Sections 279 and 337 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at Police Station Samba. The case was subsequently investigated by a team led by the Incharge of Police Post Supwal under the SHO of PS Samba.

Through diligent investigation and analysis of CCTV footage, the police identified the vehicle involved in the accident as a Hyundai i10, registration number PB18X-5739.

The investigation team was able to trace and apprehend the driver, Navjot Singh, residing in Greater Kailash, Tehsil Batala, District Gurdaspur, Punjab.

The accused driver has been arrested, and the involved vehicle has been seized. The police continue to investigate the case further to ensure all aspects of the incident are thoroughly examined and addressed.
