Police Bust Gang Trading Counterfeit Gold Biscuits, three Arrested in Budgam j-k
Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district have reportedly dismantled a gang engaged in the illicit trade of counterfeit gold biscuits, leading to the arrest of three individuals, as announced on Wednesday.
According to a police spokesperson, the Khansahib police station acted on credible information received on Tuesday, pointing towards the involvement of a group in the unlawful trade of fake gold biscuits.
Following a tip-off, law enforcement intercepted a suspicious vehicle near Gogjipathri crossing in the Khansahib area of central Kashmir. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Fayaz Ahmad Dar from Malwa Kunzar, along with Farooq Ahmad Dar and Shabir Ahmad Dar, both residents of Arizal Khansahib.

Upon searching the vehicle, authorities discovered 239 gold-like biscuits suspected to be counterfeit. The spokesperson noted that the accused failed to provide evidence supporting the authenticity of the items, leading to their immediate arrest.
A case has been registered, and an investigation into the matter is underway, according to police statements. Preliminary findings suggest that the arrested individuals were allegedly selling these fraudulent gold biscuits to buyers at inflated prices.
