Police arrests notorious drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla
In a determined effort to combat drug trafficking and eliminate the prevalence of drugs in society, law enforcement has taken decisive action by apprehending a notorious drug smuggler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act in Baramulla.
The individual in question, identified as Safan Shafi Zargar, son of Mohd Shafi Zargar and a resident of Tawheed Gunj Baramulla, has been successfully booked under the provisions of the PIT-NDPS Act. This legal action follows the acquisition of formal detention orders from the competent authority.
Subsequently, the apprehended drug smuggler has been detained and is now held in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu.It is noteworthy that Safan Shafi Zargar, a most-wanted figure, has faced multiple charges and has been actively involved in facilitating the illicit drug trade, particularly by supplying drugs to the local youth in Town Baramulla and other areas of the district.
