Under the direct oversight of Senior Superintendent of Police Benam Tosh in Samba, a significant breakthrough has been achieved as the police have apprehended four ruthless criminals responsible for carrying out violent attacks on both a woman and the police. These incidents occurred within the jurisdiction of the Bari Brahmana Police Station and the Vijaypur Police Station, respectively.
The captured criminals have been identified as Mohammad Ashraf, also known as Ashu, the son of Roshan Din; Liaqat Ali, alias Laaki, the son of Babur; Mam Hussain, the son of Babu; all of them residents of Rakh Barotian in Vijaypur. One more individual was arrested as well.
Among these four dangerous criminals, three were apprehended for their involvement in an attack on the police, as documented in FIR No. 132/2023. The charges against them include sections 307, 382, 332, 353, 148, 149, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. This incident took place near Rakh Barotian last month when the assailants, who were engaged in smuggling heroin, and their associates, attacked the police officers while they were on patrol duty in the vicinity of the Vijaypur Police Station.

The fourth criminal was arrested in connection with case FIR No. 247/2023, under sections 307, 452, 323, 147, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code at the Bari Brahmana Police Station. This case pertains to an attack on a woman with a sharp-edged weapon, which resulted in her sustaining serious injuries and necessitated hospitalization.
The successful apprehension of these hardcore criminals was executed by a dedicated police team led by Sandeep Charak, the Station House Officer of the Vijaypur Police Station, and Sumit Sharma, the Station House Officer of the Bari Brahmana Police Station.
They operated under the guidance and supervision of Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) Rohit Kumar in Vijaypur and Rahul Nagar in Bari Brahmana, along with the Additional Superintendent of Police in Samba, Surinder Choudhary.Senior Superintendent of Police in Samba, Benam Tosh, emphasized that a total of 142 hardcore criminals have been brought to justice by the Samba police in the past nine months. The law enforcement agencies are unwavering in their commitment to take robust legal actions against criminals, troublemakers, and individuals involved in unlawful activities in the district.
