PM-Modi Energizes Underprivileged J-K Students on ‘Watan Ko Jano’ Tour, Discusses Youth Potential and National Development
Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a lively interaction today with 250 underprivileged students hailing from almost every district of Jammu and Kashmir. These students, currently on a nationwide tour as part of the “Watan Ko Jano-Youth Exchange” program, visited the Prime Minister’s residence at Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi.
According to an official statement, the interaction was informal and spontaneous. The students, who are touring Jaipur, Ajmer, and New Delhi under the Central Government’s initiative, are experiencing the cultural and social diversity of the country as part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ spirit.
During the interaction, Prime Minister Modi inquired about the students’ travel experiences and the notable places they had visited. He also delved into discussions about the vibrant sporting culture of Jammu and Kashmir. Highlighting the achievements of Sheetal Devi, a young archer from the region who secured three medals at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, Modi commended the talent of the youth and expressed confidence in their ability to excel in various fields.
Emphasizing the importance of youth contribution to national development, Modi encouraged the students to actively participate in shaping the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047.’ He also discussed key developments in Jammu and Kashmir, including the construction of the world’s highest railway bridge, which is expected to enhance connectivity in the region.
Acknowledging India’s scientific achievements, the Prime Minister celebrated the success of Chandrayaan-3 and the Aditya-L1 mission, stating that these accomplishments make every Indian proud. Modi also pointed out the significant increase in tourist footfall in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the vast opportunities in the tourism sector.
Urging the students to incorporate daily yoga practice into their routine, Modi touched upon various topics, including the successful organization of the G20 summit in Kashmir and the ongoing efforts to ensure cleanliness in the country.
The students are anticipated to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union MoS in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh as part of their program. In a subsequent post on social media, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the students, describing the interaction as memorable and commending their enthusiasm and energy.
A short video capturing moments of the event showcased students expressing delight at meeting Modi, with some describing the experience as amazing, incredible, and magical. One student particularly appreciated the Prime Minister’s statement about not feeling tired from work, citing it as the most liked aspect of the interaction.
