PM Modi Encourages Participation in Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged Union ministers to actively engage in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a large-scale campaign designed to showcase central government schemes. In a meeting with the Union Council of Ministers, Modi emphasized the campaign’s role in achieving a developed India (‘viksit Bharat’). He directed ministers to concentrate on educating the public about how various government schemes benefit different societal segments.
Extensive Outreach Through Mobile Vans and Theatres
The campaign utilizes vehicles to promote government schemes across 2.55 lakh gram panchayats and nearly 18,000 urban locations. These Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) vans, adorned with details of various schemes like Kisan Credit Card, the rural housing scheme, Ujjwala scheme, and PM Svanidhi yojana, are pivotal to the outreach. More than 2,500 mobile performing vans and over 200 mobile theatre vans are being deployed to cover every corner of the country.
Whole-of-Government Approach and Campaign Details
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is conceptualized as a ‘whole-of-government approach’. The Ministry of Agriculture leads the rural campaign, while the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is in charge of urban areas. PM Modi officially launched the yatra on November 15 from Jharkhand’s Khunti, flagging off five specially-designed IEC vans. Similar vans were also launched across various tribal-populated districts nationwide.
The campaign, aimed at reaching beneficiaries of the Centre’s flagship programs in both rural and urban areas, is scheduled to conclude on January 25, 2024.
