PM Has Nothing for JK Except Dynastic Politics: Omar Abdullah
Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the National Conference, responded strongly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statements. Abdullah criticized Modi for remaining silent on the rise of militancy in the Jammu region while focusing on accusations of dynastic politics. He claimed that the Prime Minister uses this tactic because his party has little else to offer in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reacting to comments made by Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif, regarding Article 370, Abdullah firmly stated that Pakistan should stay out of Jammu and Kashmir’s internal matters. “Pakistan should manage its own affairs and not interfere in our assembly elections. We are not part of Pakistan. Let them handle their country, and we will handle ours. It’s inappropriate for them to comment on our elections or offer any advice,” he added.
When asked about Modi’s claim that certain political families in Kashmir felt they were above being questioned, Abdullah shot back, questioning when the Prime Minister last answered a question in Parliament. “I’ve never seen him respond to questions in Parliament. We, on the other hand, face all inquiries after winning elections. We don’t hide.”
