Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has set out for a consequential three-day bilateral visit to the United Arab Emirates today (Sunday), as confirmed by a statement from the Foreign Office. This visit, spanning from today until November 28, is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the UAE.
Strengthening Bonds Across Spheres: A Multifaceted Engagement
The prime minister is scheduled to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, marking a significant opportunity to bolster ties in political, economic, trade, investment, cultural, defense, and people-to-people relations. This engagement holds promise for both nations, as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of the evolving global landscape.
Strategic Collaborations and Celebrations: MoUs and National Day Participation
During the visit, various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are anticipated to be signed, covering crucial areas such as investment cooperation in energy, port operations projects, waste water treatment, food security, logistics, mining, aviation, and banking & financial services. These agreements are instrumental in fostering mutual growth and cooperation.
The visit also coincides with the celebrations of the 52nd National Day of the UAE and the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 28) in Dubai. With 90 heads of states and 7,000 representatives from across the world, including Pakistan, participating, these events underscore the global significance of the UAE’s National Day and the COP 28.
Moreover, the UN Climate Change Conference of 2023 is scheduled to take place in the UAE from November 30 to December 12, with various programs continuing till December 15. PM Kakar, leading a high-level delegation, will oversee Pakistan’s participation in the celebrations on December 1 and 2, providing a platform for diplomatic dialogues with world leaders and representatives of foreign countries. This multifaceted visit is a testament to the enduring and warm fraternal ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
