Shahzad Akbar Faces Acid Attack: Injuries Not Life-Threatening
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s accountability chief, Shahzad Akbar, has recently become a victim of a shocking acid attack at his residence near London, in the United Kingdom. Providing details to Geo News, Akbar disclosed that the assailant, disguised as a delivery person, targeted him when he opened the door. Fortunately, most of the acid landed on the door, sparing Akbar’s wife and children from harm.
Akbar, currently residing in a small village outside London, shifted to his new home just 1.5 months ago. The incident raises concerns about the security of public figures and the leaking of private addresses. Akbar stated that his self-exile in the UK was disrupted when a helmet-wearing delivery man rang his doorbell, launching the attack as soon as the door opened. Despite the traumatic event, he emphasized that his injuries are not life-threatening.

The revelation of Akbar’s recent change of residence highlights a breach in privacy, raising questions about the safety measures in place for politicians in self-exile. Akbar shared that the delivery man, disguised with a helmet, targeted him with acid from a bottle, causing injuries to one side of his face and body. The incident has prompted increased security around Akbar’s home, with the police actively investigating the matter.

The swift response of law enforcement is evident as they reached Akbar’s residence within five minutes of the incident. Akbar informed Geo News that the police have recovered the acid bottle used in the attack, and it bears fingerprints that could lead to identifying the suspect. The alleged assailant, dressed as a delivery boy and riding a bike, has brought attention to the need for improved security measures for public figures living abroad.
