Oppo Unveils A59 5G Smartphone in India, Promises Affordable 5G Experience
Oppo introduced its latest offering, the Oppo A59 5G smartphone, in India, marking a significant step in the 5G device segment.
Teased earlier this week on X (formerly Twitter), this handset is positioned as an affordable 5G successor to the previously launched Oppo A58 5G, released in November last year. Highlighting a sleek body design, the phone boasts a 90Hz refresh rate display reaching up to 720 nits of peak brightness, coupled with a robust 5,000mAh battery.
The Oppo A59 5G is priced at Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Additionally, a 6GB+128GB RAM and storage configuration is also available.
Scheduled for sale starting December 25, the phone will be accessible through various platforms including the OPPO store, Flipkart, Amazon, and other retail outlets, arriving in Silk Gold and Starry Black color choices.
Prospective buyers can enjoy a cashback of up to Rs. 1,500 and no-cost EMI for up to six months via select bank cards and financial institutions.
Offering an EMI payment option beginning at Rs. 1,699, the My OPPO Exclusive offer provides assured gifts with the purchase of the A59 5G.
In terms of specifications, the Oppo A59 5G runs on ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13 out-of-the-box, featuring a 90Hz display with a peak brightness of 750 nits and 96 percent NTSC high color gamut.
Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset, it’s complemented by a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, up to 6GB of RAM, and 128GB internal storage.
Camera-wise, the phone includes a dual sensor rear setup consisting of a 13-megapixel primary shooter with an f/2.2 aperture, alongside a 2-megapixel bokeh camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The front camera is an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
Equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, the A59 5G supports 33W SUPERVOOC flash charging, claimed to charge up to 52 percent in just 30 minutes, offering a USB Type-C charging port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
