NSE Puts Four Stocks Under F&O Ban on October 6, 2023
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has imposed a ban on trading in four stocks in the futures and options (F&O) segment for Friday, October 6, 2023. This action has been taken because these securities have exceeded 95 percent of the market-wide position limit (MWPL), as per NSE regulations. However, it’s important to note that these stocks will still be available for trading in the cash market.
The four stocks that are currently under the F&O ban list by the NSE are Punjab National Bank, Delta Corp, Indiabulls Housing Finance, and Manappuram Finance. The NSE routinely updates the list of securities in the F&O ban for each trading day.
According to the NSE, derivative contracts associated with these securities have breached the 95 percent MWPL threshold, resulting in their placement in the F&O ban period. The NSE has issued a notification stating, “It is hereby informed that all clients/members shall trade in the derivative contracts of said security only to decrease their positions through offsetting positions. Any increase in open positions shall attract appropriate penal and disciplinary action.”
During the F&O ban period, no new positions can be initiated for any of the F&O contracts related to the specified stocks, in compliance with stock exchange regulations.
Investors and traders are encouraged to stay informed about such bans and adhere to the trading guidelines set by the stock exchanges to ensure compliance with market regulations.
