Nova Agritech IPO Makes Stellar Debut, Shares Surge Over 34% on Listing
Nova Agritech’s initial public offering (IPO) witnessed a robust debut as the share price surged over 34% on listing day. On the NSE, Nova Agritech shares were listed at ₹55 per share, a significant increase of 34.1% from the issue price of ₹41. Meanwhile, on the BSE, the listing price was ₹56 apiece, reflecting a 36.6% gain.
Strong Premium in Grey Market
Analysts had predicted a premium of ₹14 to ₹20 per share, indicating an expected opening in the range of ₹55 to ₹61. Some experts even anticipated a premium of around 60% over the issue price. The grey market premium (GMP) for Nova Agritech IPO stood at +13, suggesting a premium of ₹13 in the unofficial market.
IPO Subscription and Utilization of Proceeds
Nova Agritech’s IPO, with a subscription status of 109.37 times, saw overwhelming demand. The retail investors’ portion was subscribed 77.12 times, while non-institutional investors (NII) subscribed 224.08 times, and qualified institutional buyers (QIB) portion was booked 79.31 times.
The IPO, worth ₹143.81 crore, included a fresh issue of ₹112 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of ₹31.81 crore by the selling shareholder. The net proceeds are earmarked for investment in subsidiary Nova Agri Sciences Private Limited, capital expenditures for plant expansion, working capital needs, and general business purposes.
Market Expectations and GMP Outlook
With a grey market premium of +13, Nova Agritech’s shares demonstrated a strong demand in the unofficial market, hinting at a positive listing. The estimated listing price, considering the upper end of the IPO price band, was around ₹54 apiece, showcasing a 31.71% increase over the IPO price.
Investors and analysts are closely monitoring Nova Agritech’s performance as it navigates the public market landscape. The grey market premium serves as an indicator of investors’ enthusiasm and willingness to pay a premium for the company’s shares.
