Nitish Kumar Eyes Sushil Modi as Deputy After Ministerial Sackings
In a significant political development, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is reportedly considering bringing back BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi as his deputy. As per sources, Nitish Kumar has decided to dismiss all ministers from the alliance partner Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), including Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. With discussions ongoing about Nitish Kumar’s return to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), he has the authority to choose his new deputy and has expressed interest in Sushil Modi.
The camaraderie between Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi, developed during their previous alliance, seems to play a role in this decision. The BJP and JD(U) have also finalized a seat-sharing agreement for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, and all BJP MLAs in Bihar have reportedly pledged support to Nitish Kumar.
The developments suggest a significant shift in the alliance dynamics in Bihar, indicating Nitish Kumar’s potential return to the NDA.
