Nepal’s renowned climber Kami Rita Sherpa has once again made history by conquering Mount Everest for the 29th time. Breaking his own record, the 54-year-old Sherpa reached the summit at 7:25 AM on Sunday, leading an expedition organized by Seven Summit Treks. His remarkable feat earns him the distinguished title of ‘Most Successful Ascent of Mt. Everest by an Individual.’
Despite initially stating no specific plans for further climbs, Kami Rita’s determination led him to scale the world’s highest peak twice in a single week during the last spring season. This time, he hinted at repeating the remarkable feat. Accompanying a team of about 28 climbers, Kami Rita embarked on his expedition from Kathmandu at the end of May, guiding and inspiring climbers on their journey to Sagarmatha.
With his unparalleled achievement, Kami Rita solidifies his position as a legendary figure in the 71-year-long history of Everest climbing. While his fellow climber Pasang Dawa Sherpa holds the record for 27 ascents, Kami Rita continues to push the boundaries of mountaineering excellence, leaving an indelible mark on the world’s tallest peak.
