Nadeem Sharief – DDC Doda’s Changa blames J-K Govt for Financial Year Closure, leaving impact on thousands of contractors/labourers
Nadeem Sharief, a district development councillor in Changa-Doda, has launched a scathing critique against the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) government for its decision to close the financial year on March 29th, leaving bills of numerous small-scale contractors and laborers unsubmitted on the Finance department’s portal. This move, just two days before the official end of the fiscal year on March 31st, has been branded as insensitive and irresponsible by Sharief.
The untimely closure of the financial year has resulted in significant financial losses for laborers and small-scale contractors who have not been compensated for their work and services rendered.
Sharief emphasized the detrimental impact this decision has had on the livelihoods of those dependent on timely payments for their labor.
The failure to submit bills on time has exacerbated financial strain on already vulnerable segments of the workforce, highlighting systemic issues within the government’s financial management processes.
