Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests Two from Gujarat in Salman Khan Residence Firing Case
Two suspects have been apprehended by the Mumbai Crime Branch for their alleged role in the shooting outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra West.
The Mumbai Police disclosed that the two individuals were captured in Bhuj, Gujarat, late on Monday night.
“Both suspects, who had fled Mumbai post the shooting, were nabbed in Bhuj,” officials reported.
They will be transported to Mumbai for further interrogation.
The shooting incident occurred early Sunday morning when two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle fired shots outside Galaxy Apartments, where Salman Khan lives, and quickly left the scene.
Law enforcement agencies acted promptly following the incident.
Preliminary investigations suggest the assailants arrived on a motorcycle, their faces concealed by helmets, pointing to a well-planned attack.
Four shots were fired during the incident, with a live cartridge found at the scene.
Earlier, the Mumbai Crime Branch had called in two persons for questioning related to the shooting.
After the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde contacted Salman Khan to discuss the situation. Shinde also conferred with the Mumbai Police Commissioner, recommending an increase in the actor’s security measures.
Since November 2022, Salman Khan’s security has been upgraded to Y-Plus due to threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Khan is also permitted to carry a personal firearm and has acquired an armored vehicle for enhanced safety.
