Mehbooba-Mufti Stands Firm Against SC, Vows to Restore Article 370
PDP President Mehbooba Mufti reaffirmed on Sunday that her party would persist in its efforts to restore the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. She asserted that the Supreme Court’s recent decision regarding Article 370 should not be perceived as “God’s verdict.
Her statements followed the apex court’s December 11 ruling, which upheld the Central government’s abrogation of Article 370. The court directed the expedited reinstatement of statehood and mandated elections to the assembly by September 30 of the next year.
Mufti conveyed determination, stating, “We must not lose heart. The Supreme Court is not divine. In a previous instance, the same court had ruled that Article 370 could not be amended without the recommendation of a constituent assembly. Today, different judges have issued a different ruling.

However, we will persist until our last breath. The sacrifices we have made cannot be allowed to go in vain,” she emphasized.
