Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Assigns Portfolios in Expanded Cabinet
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has assigned portfolios to the state’s ministers, retaining the home department for himself while allocating key ministries to deputy CMs and other officials. The cabinet strength now stands at 31, out of a maximum allowed 35 ministers in the Madhya Pradesh government.
Chief Minister Yadav will handle the Home Department, along with General Administration, Public Relations, Jails, Mining, Aviation, Industrial Policies, and Investment Promotion. The finance ministry has been entrusted to Deputy CM Jagdish Devda, who also oversees the Commercial Tax department. Another Deputy CM, Rajendra Shukla, will take charge of Public Health and Medical Education.
Former Union minister Prahlad Patel has been given charge of Panchayat and Rural Development, while senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya will oversee Urban Development and Housing, along with Parliamentary Affairs. Other senior MLAs and former parliamentarians have also been allocated various departments, including Public Works, Transport, School Education, and Tribal Affairs.
Several other ministries have been distributed among different ministers: Public Health Engineering, Revenue, Water Resources, Farmers Welfare, Women and Child Development, Food and Civil Supplies, Sports, Youth Affairs, and more. Additionally, Minister of States with independent charge and Ministers of States have also been allotted specific departments, including OBC and Minority Welfare, Culture, Tourism, Skill Development, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries among others.
This redistribution of ministerial responsibilities marks an effort to streamline governance and ensure focused attention on diverse sectors and welfare programs across Madhya Pradesh.
