Inauguration of Key Infrastructure Projects
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha made a significant stride in enhancing Shopian’s development by inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for a series of transformative projects valued at over Rs 110 crore. The inauguration ceremony held on Wednesday marked a pivotal moment for the region’s growth and prosperity.
Empowering Local Communities
Among the projects inaugurated by Lt. Governor Sinha, the most noteworthy were the two new blocks of Transit accommodation at Allowpora Keegam. These accommodations will provide vital housing support to local communities, ensuring their well-being and comfort. Additionally, the development of the Playfield at Trenz and the upgradation and enhancement of the playground at K-Hallan Keller will promote sports and recreation in the area.

Infrastructure Upgrades for Enhanced Connectivity
The comprehensive development plan also includes significant road upgrades, such as the Bijbehara – Shopian road and Pudsoo to Kapren causeway. These road improvements will not only facilitate smoother transportation but also boost economic activities in the region. Furthermore, Transit accommodation for Transhumant Tribals at Lal Ghulam will address housing needs, contributing to the welfare of the tribal population.
Foundation Stones for a Promising Future
Lt. Governor Sinha laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 17.92 crore, reinforcing his commitment to the region’s development. The construction of a state-of-the-art stadium with a synthetic football turf at Dragad and the development of synthetic basketball and volleyball courts will foster a culture of sports and fitness in Shopian. Moreover, the upgradation of roads from Dobipora to Molo Dangerpora and Reshnagri to Mandijan road will enhance connectivity for residents and businesses alike.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the newly initiated sports infrastructure projects, Lt. Governor Sinha emphasized their transformative potential.
