Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court Rejects Bail Application of Imran Khan in May 9 Cases
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore has rejected bail applications filed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan in eight cases related to the violent events of May 9, 2023. The court ruled that there were sufficient grounds to connect Khan to the incidents, which involved attacks on military and state properties following his arrest in a corruption case.
The prosecution alleged that Khan had incited his supporters to target state infrastructure as a means to pressure the government and security institutions for his release. Evidence presented to the court included witness testimonies and a video message reportedly attributed to Khan.
