Kupwara Resident Arrested in Money–Laundering Case
The Enforcement Directorate announced on Thursday that a resident of Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, has been apprehended in a money laundering case related to the admission of students from Jammu and Kashmir in MBBS and other courses in Pakistan.
In a statement released on X, the ED reported the arrest of Mohammad Abdullah Shah on 06/02/2024 under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. The case involves individuals implicated in terror financing, collaborating with the Pakistani handler Manzoor Ahmad Shah. Manzoor Ahmad Shah facilitated admissions in MBBS and other courses in Pakistani colleges for students hailing from Jammu and Kashmir.
Mohammad Abdullah Shah was presented before the Hon’ble Court of the Special Judge ACB (CBI-Cases) Kashmir, Srinagar. The court has granted custody to the Enforcement Directorate until 13/02/2024, according to the ED’s statement.
