Kuldeep highlights key points after DC’s narrow win over GT
Following Delhi Capitals’ 4-run win against Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2024 match at Arun Jaitley Stadium, spinner Kuldeep Yadav emphasized the significance of the two points gained. Kuldeep took 2 wickets for 29 runs in his four-over spell with an economy rate of 7.20. At the post-match presentation, he expressed happiness with the win, acknowledging the close nature of the game in the final over.
“Securing these two points is crucial for us. Going into the last over, we knew it’d be a close call. Our strategy was clear for Tewatia’s over, and thankfully it paid off. It’s essential to understand the batsmen’s approach,” Kuldeep commented.

Reflecting on the match, Gujarat chose to bowl after winning the toss. Despite a brisk start by openers Jake Fraser McGurk (23) and Prithvi Shaw (11), Delhi Capitals found themselves at 44/3. However, a remarkable partnership between Axar Patel (66) and Rishabh Pant propelled them forward. Pant, in particular, dominated with an unbeaten 88 off 43 balls, helping DC reach 224/4. Sandeep Warrier’s 3/15 were the standout figures for Gujarat Titans.
In response, Gujarat lost their skipper, Shubman Gill, early on. A significant partnership between Wriddhiman Saha (39) and Sai Sudarshan (65) brought them back into the game. However, Delhi Capitals’ bowlers, supported by Kuldeep Yadav’s strategy, managed to restrict Gujarat to 220/8, securing the win. Rasikh Salam (3/44) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/29) were pivotal with the ball for DC.
With this win, Delhi Capitals hold the sixth position in the points table, having secured four wins, five losses, and eight points. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans occupy the seventh spot, matching DC’s win-loss record but lagging in net run rate.
