Kremlin Denies Responsibility in Navalny’s Death, Investigation Ongoing
The Kremlin has rejected accusations of responsibility for Alexei Navalny’s death, emphasizing that an ongoing investigation is being conducted.
Russian authorities have not yet released Navalny’s body to his family, sparking anger and allegations from his followers who accuse the Kremlin of attempting to “cover their tracks” and being responsible for his death.
President Vladimir Putin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, stated that the investigation is in progress, and “all necessary actions are being carried out.”
Peskov criticized Western leaders, including US President Joe Biden, for holding Putin responsible for Navalny’s death, calling such remarks “blatantly vulgar” in the absence of investigation results.
Navalny, a prominent critic of Putin, passed away in an Arctic prison colony where he was serving time on charges widely perceived as punishment for his opposition activities.
