Kishtwar, July 24, 2024: The District Police Kishtwar has made a significant stride in its battle against cybercrime by successfully recovering an amount of ₹3,00,000 from recent online fraud cases. This achievement highlights the effectiveness of the Cybercrime Investigation Unit in tackling digital scams.
The Unit’s recent success involved solving a series of fraud cases that included mobile recharge frauds, unauthorized third-party app installations, and deceptive Telegram links promoting fraudulent trading applications such as Aviator, Happybet, 11winner, and Skywinner.
After receiving numerous complaints, the Cybercrime Investigation Unit promptly initiated a thorough investigation using advanced technological methods. Their swift and efficient efforts led to the recovery of ₹3,00,000.
Since its establishment, the Cybercrime Investigation Unit Kishtwar has successfully recovered a total of ₹34,18,506 from various online scams, demonstrating its robust approach to combating cybercrime. Despite these successes, investigations continue to trace additional defrauded funds with several promising leads.
The District Police Kishtwar advises the public to exercise caution against online fraud. Avoid clicking on suspicious links, installing unauthorized apps, and sharing personal information online.
