Kishtwar District Plans Grand Independence Day 2024 Celebration

Kishtwar, 22-07-2024 : Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, IAS, chaired a meeting with department officers to plan the Independence Day 2024 celebrations in the district.
The meeting, held at the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Kishtwar, saw participation from SSP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom, JKPS; ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal; CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali; ACD Kishtwar Phulail Singh; AD Food/DIO Kishtwar Shafqat Keen; Tehsildar HQ; AO DC Office, and other district officers and ExEns.
The main event will take place at Chowgan Ground, Kishtwar, with additional celebrations across various blocks, tehsils, and government offices. Distinguished guests will hoist the National Flag during the ceremonies.
Discussions covered flag hoisting, cultural activities, dress rehearsals, and logistical and safety arrangements for the main program at Chowgan Ground.
DIO Kishtwar and CEO Municipal Council Kishtwar were tasked with ensuring the Shahnai Vadan at the venue and MC office on Independence Day morning.
GHSS Girls will sing the National Anthem. Joint rehearsals for cultural programs and the troop parade will start tomorrow, with the final dress rehearsal on 13th August 2024.
SSP Kishtwar assured comprehensive security arrangements throughout the district. The March Past Practice will be overseen by SSP Kishtwar.
Preparations include venue and stage setup, shamianas by ExEn PWD, floral decorations by the Floriculture Department, a Public Address System by DI&PR Kishtwar, seating arrangements, fire tender services, sanitary facilities, limelining by EO Municipal Council, and water and power supply by the concerned ExEns at the main venue.
First aid will be provided by the CMO. Designated committees will screen cultural items, and DYSSO will manage mementos and trophies for participants. Fourteen Freedom Fighters will lead school children’s Prabhat Pheris, sharing their freedom stories.
Additionally, a Swachta Pakhwada campaign will run from 1st to 14th August 2024 under ACD Kishtwar’s supervision.
Dr. Yadav emphasized synchronized efforts among all officers to ensure the smooth celebration of Independence Day and issued necessary directions for the event’s successful conduct.
