Kejriwal arrest: Medical team departs ED office in Delhi
A medical team departed from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Delhi on Saturday morning after conducting a medical check-up on the Delhi Chief Minister.
Concerns Raised by AAP Minister Atishi
Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party minister Atishi expressed concern about the safety and security of the Delhi Chief Minister following his arrest by the ED. Atishi highlighted the unprecedented nature of a sitting Chief Minister being arrested and emphasized the need for heightened security measures.
Kejriwal’s Arrest and Court Proceedings
Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court had sent Chief Minister Kejriwal to ED custody for seven days in connection with a money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam. Despite AAP workers rallying behind Kejriwal and leaders from various blocs extending support, the court upheld the ED’s request for custody. Kejriwal’s lawyer, Madan Lal, provided insights into the court proceedings, highlighting the arguments presented by the ED regarding the need for custodial investigation to trace the money trail.
