Kashmir University Postpones UG Exams Due to Summer Break

SRINAGAR: The University of Kashmir (KU) has postponed all undergraduate examinations for the 2nd and 4th semesters that were scheduled for July 15 and 16. This decision follows the announcement of a summer break in colleges across the Kashmir division.
In an official statement, the Assistant Controller of Examination at KU informed UG candidates that their exams have been deferred due to the summer vacation in Kashmir colleges. “It is notified for the information of all UG Candidates of 2nd and 4th Semesters that their examinations scheduled to be held from 15-07-2024 and 16-07-2024 respectively have been postponed due to summer break in the Colleges,” the order reads.
Revised date sheets for these exams will be issued separately, according to the university officials.
The announcement of the summer vacation came from the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department, which declared a break for all Government Degree Colleges in the Kashmir division and the winter zone areas of the Jammu division from July 15 to July 24. Principal Secretary of the Higher Education Department, Alok Kumar, stated in an order that all relevant colleges would observe the summer vacation during this period.
“All the Government Degree Colleges falling in the Kashmir division and Winter zone of Jammu division shall observe summer vacation with effect from July-15-2024 to 24th July,” the order specified.
