The University of Kashmir (KU) has announced the postponement of several scheduled examinations due to the upcoming assembly elections in the region. On Monday, KU stated that all exams planned for September 24, 25, and 30, 2024, will be rescheduled. This decision follows a previous postponement of exams that were set for September 17 and 18.
An official from KU’s Examination Department, the Assistant Controller of Examination, issued the notification, ensuring candidates that fresh exam dates will be announced soon. “It is notified for the information of all concerned candidates that all University examinations scheduled to be held on 24-09-2024, 25-09-2024 and 30-09-2024 have been postponed. Fresh dates shall be issued separately,” the notification read.
This move comes in light of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, which are set to take place in three phases, starting from September 18. The elections are expected to engage significant administrative resources and attention, prompting institutions like KU to adjust their schedules accordingly.
Students affected by the postponement are advised to monitor official KU communications for updates regarding the new exam dates. The postponements are part of efforts to ensure that the election process is smooth and unobstructed, while also considering the welfare of students and staff.
As the political climate in Jammu and Kashmir intensifies, the university remains committed to accommodating both the academic needs of its students and the logistical demands of the elections.
