The Health Department in the Kashmir division has taken steps to detach numerous employees who were informally assigned by Heads of Departments (HoDs) across various health institutions.
According to an official from the health department, the Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department has instructed the directors of Health Services of Kashmir and Jammu, along with the Director of Family Welfare, MCH, and Immunization, to detach all staff assigned by heads at their own discretion. The department has already completed the detachment of nearly all employees who were informally assigned by HoDs. In Kupwara district, 16 employees have been detached, while Ganderbal district has witnessed the detachment of approximately 61 employees, and Bandipora has recorded the detachment of 16 more employees.

In other districts, all employees assigned by HoDs on their own have been detached, and strict action under established norms will be taken against those found violating the orders, as well as the concerned HoDs, the official added.
The recent directives from the H&ME Department also emphasize the implementation of transfer and posting orders issued by the administrative department. These measures aim to streamline staff deployment in the interest of patient care.
