K Kavitha of BRS Withdraws Petition Against Probe Agency Summons
BRS leader K Kavitha withdrew her petition challenging summons by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) in the Supreme Court. Her lawyer informed the court that they are withdrawing the petition challenging the ED summons.
New Challenge Pending
However, Kavitha has moved the Supreme Court challenging her arrest, which is currently pending. In her petition, she challenges her remand, citing Article 141, which states the Supreme Court’s decisions are binding on all courts within India. Additionally, she challenges section 19(1) of the PMLA Act.
Allegations by ED
The Enforcement Directorate alleged that Kavitha conspired with top AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise policy. They claimed she paid Rs 100 crore to AAP leaders in exchange for favors related to the policy.
