J&K Triumphs Over Mizoram in Vijay Hazare Trophy with Dominant Batting and Bowling
In a commanding display at the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) defeated Mizoram with a massive margin of 172 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium Ground ‘A’, Ahmedabad. The highlight of the match was the phenomenal batting performances by Vivrant Sharma and Qamran Iqbal, who both scored centuries, propelling J&K to a formidable total.
Centurion Duo Leads J&K to Towering Total
Vivrant Sharma delivered a blistering knock of 144 runs off 91 balls, including 14 boundaries and 8 sixes. His partner, Qamran Iqbal, complemented with a solid 116 off 134 balls, featuring 9 fours and 3 sixes. Their partnership decimated the Mizoram bowling attack, setting a challenging target. Contributions from Abhinav Puri, Auqib Nabi, Shubham Khajuria, and Lone Nasir Muzaffar further bolstered J&K’s innings, reaching 322 runs in the allotted 50 overs. Mizoram’s bowling unit, led by KC Cariappa and G Lalbiakvela, managed to pick up a few wickets but couldn’t halt the run flow.
Mizoram’s Batting Collapse Seals J&K’s Victory
Facing a daunting target, Mizoram’s batting lineup crumbled, getting bundled out for just 150 runs. Mohit Jangra showed some resistance with a 43-run effort, but the lack of support from the rest of the batting line-up led to their downfall. J&K’s bowling attack was lethal, with Rasikh Salam and Abid Mushtaq claiming three wickets each. Lone Nasir Muzaffar’s two-wicket haul and Auqib Nabi’s contribution further tightened J&K’s grip on the match, leading to their comprehensive victory.
