Jk-RDD Aims to Strengthen Skill Training Initiatives
The Rural Development Department (RDD) and Panchayati Raj in Jammu and Kashmir are planning to empanel premier institutes as Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) for the implementation of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), a flagship placement-linked skilling scheme.
Secretary Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary emphasized the need for rationality in youth selection and training, suggesting engagement with government educational and technical institutions as PIAs.
The initiative aims to enhance the skilling and placement efforts in the region, focusing on sustainable employment for the youth and exploring self-employment opportunities.
The integration with other schemes like Mumkin and Tejaswini was also discussed to leverage experiences and best practices.
