JK Police Seize Rs 5 Lakh Cash in Kishtwar Raid
Police authorities at the Paarna Chingam Chatroo Inter-District checkpoint, situated at the junction of Kishtwar and Anantnag Districts, made a significant interception, confiscating an undisclosed sum of Rs 5 lakh from an individual.
According to a police spokesperson, Mohammad Ashraf Reshi of Deller Chatroo was the possessor of the unaccounted funds. The operation was conducted by a team from Police Station Chatroo, spearheaded by Inspector Vikram Singh, with support from PSI Pintu Raina.

Reshi was apprehended while travelling in a Tavera Taxi with registration number JK02AV 1937, originating from Gadool Anantnag. The swift action by the police team ensured the prevention of any potential illicit activities associated with the transported cash.

The confiscated funds were promptly handed over to the Election Flying Squad Team (FST) stationed in Chatroo, following established protocols and procedures to maintain transparency and accountability.

In an official statement, SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom, issued a cautionary note, advising against carrying cash exceeding Rs 50,000 during the electoral period. Emphasizing the importance of such regulations, Qayoom underscored their role in upholding the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.
Furthermore, the police officer commended the diligent efforts of the police team involved in the operation, highlighting their commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring public safety.
