JK Police Eradicate Poppy Cultivation in Bhaderwah, Doda
Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken decisive action against illegal poppy cultivation in the Bhaderwah area of Doda district. Acting on specific information received from a reliable source, authorities launched an operation to eradicate the illegal cultivation of poppy plants.
FIR Registered Under NDPS Act
Upon receiving the information, a case FIR no.65/2024 was swiftly registered under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at PS Bhaderwah. This legal step empowered law enforcement to take action against those involved in the unlawful cultivation of poppy plants.
Joint Operation with Executive Magistrate
Led by Inspector Sandeep Parihar, the Station House Officer of Police Station Bhaderwah, a team comprising police personnel and executive magistrate officials conducted a thorough investigation. The joint team, accompanied by other revenue officials, visited the identified locations where poppy cultivation was suspected.During the operation, all poppy plants were seized under the supervision of the Executive Magistrate Bhaderwah.
This collaborative effort between law enforcement and administrative authorities highlights the commitment to combatting drug-related offenses in the region.The investigation into the case is ongoing, demonstrating the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to root out illegal drug activities.
