Jk Police Alert Public About Impersonator Pretending to be DGP
Jammu and Kashmir Police issued a warning on Sunday, urging the public to stay cautious regarding an individual impersonating Director General of Police R R Swain and soliciting money via phone calls.
The authorities are actively working to identify the perpetrator, and legal measures are being pursued.
In a statement, the Jammu and Kashmir Police cautioned, “We wish to alert fellow police officers, counterparts in other government entities, and the general populace about an imposter utilizing the mobile number 8891979985, falsely claiming to be Sh R R Swain DGP J&K.”
The fraudulent individual has been reaching out to various individuals, including police officers, attempting to deceive them into parting with money. While legal actions are being taken, the police urge friends, colleagues, and relatives to remain vigilant against such scams in the present and in the future.
