    J&K High Court Invites Eligible Srinagar Wing Employees to Switch From NPS to Old Pension Scheme

    SRINAGAR, October 6, 2026 [VoM News]: After the Jammu Kashmir Govt announces the development for employees to switch to Old Pension Scheme, now, the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has invited eligible officers and officials of its Srinagar Wing to exercise their option for switching from the National Pension System (NPS) to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).

    In this regard, an order number 267/RJS dated October 4, 2026, has been issued which states the direction following the Government Order No. 305-F of 2026 dated September 28 and a communication issued by the Registrar General on October 1.

    As per information available with VoM News, the option is available to employees who entered government service on or after January 1, 2010, but whose appointments were made against posts or vacancies that had been advertised or formally notified before December 24, 2009, the date on which SRO-400 was issued.

    It has been further said that the eligible officers and officials who want to avail themselves of the provision have been asked to furnish the required information in the prescribed Annexure-A format.


    The employees have been informed that the completed option forms must reach the Office of the Registrar Judicial, Srinagar, by October 6, 2026, for onward submission to the Office of the Registrar General.

    The order provides a specific opportunity to the covered category of High Court employees and should not be interpreted as a general switch from NPS to OPS for all employees.
