Jammu, 12.09.2024 : In a continued crackdown on drug-related activities, Jammu Police have attached two residential properties belonging to notorious drug peddlers Javed Ahmed, son of Abdul Ghani, and Abdul Majeed alias Bhallu, both residents of Lower Ragoora, Jammu.
The properties, valued at Rs 1 crore 4 lakh and 71 thousand, were seized under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
An investigation by the police revealed that these properties were acquired through the proceeds of the narcotics trade. A board of engineers formed by the Revenue and R&B Departments confirmed the valuation of the attached properties.
Reports from these assessments established that the properties far exceeded the owners’ known legal income sources, confirming their link to illicit drug trafficking.
Javed Ahmed and Abdul Majeed have been involved in multiple cases, including FIR No. 9/2023 (PS Nagrota), 33/2020 (PS Janipur), and 39/2019 (PS Bagh-e-Bahu), all under the NDPS Act for drug-related offenses.
In addition to these seizures, four more properties worth crores in Rajeev Nagar and Ragoora have been frozen by Jammu Police over the last five months.
The entire operation was supervised by SSP Jammu, reinforcing the police’s commitment to tackling the drug menace.
Local residents and netizens have praised the police for their decisive action in seizing property obtained through illicit drug trade, setting a strong example for others involved in drug peddling in the district.
