Jahanzaib Sirwal Quits Congress, Criticizes Party’s Approach in JK
Congress leader from Jammu and Kashmir, Jahanzaib Sirwal, has announced his resignation from the party, citing its failure to address the aspirations and will of the people in the Union Territory. Sirwal emphasized that the voices of grassroots workers and leaders have been systematically sidelined by the current leadership, leading to a disconnect between the party and the people it aims to represent. He stated, “Recent events have led me to re-evaluate my allegiance to the party. Despite my unwavering commitment, I can no longer ignore the glaring failures of the Congress party in addressing the aspirations and will of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”

Sirwal elaborated on his decision, highlighting the consequences of entrusting leadership to what he described as incompetent hands. He asserted that this move has not only contributed to the decline of the party but has also disenfranchised the masses who once saw Congress as their voice in the region.
“After much contemplation and soul-searching, I have decided to part ways with the Congress party,” Sirwal stated. “My decision stems from a desire to truly represent the people and uphold their interests with honesty and integrity. Rather than perpetuating false hopes and promises.”
In his resignation letter, Sirwal’s words reflect a sense of disillusionment with the party’s current state and a commitment to advocating for the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. His departure underscores the challenges faced by political parties in addressing the complex dynamics of the region and the importance of responsive and effective leadership in fulfilling the aspirations of the populace.
