J-k Valley Braces for Continued Cold, Pahalgam Hits Minus 6.2°C
In the midst of an enduring dry spell, the Valley experienced persistently frigid temperatures on Tuesday, with the mercury consistently dropping below freezing point.
Pahalgam, situated in South Kashmir, reported a minimum temperature of minus 6.2 degrees Celsius. Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir, experienced a chilly night at minus 4.8 degrees Celsius, while Qazigund in South Kashmir recorded a low of minus 4.4 degrees Celsius. The renowned ski-resort of Gulmarg also witnessed sub-zero temperatures, reaching minus 4.0 degrees Celsius.
Moving to north Kashmir, Kupwara documented a low of minus 4.6 degrees Celsius, and Kokernag in the south recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.7 degrees Celsius. The persistent cold wave continues to grip the region, with these frigid conditions affecting various parts of the Valley.
