J-K Police Seize 1378 Vehicles in Jammu Crackdown on Illegal Mining
In the year 2023, the Jammu and Kashmir Police took decisive action against illegal mining activities in Jammu District, resulting in the seizure of 1378 vehicles, as reported by SSP Jammu, Dr. Vinod Kumar.
Dr. Kumar emphasized the significant steps taken by the police to curb illegal mining, leading to the confiscation of 1378 vehicles in Jammu District this year. The process to cancel the registration of these vehicles, which were actively participating in illegal mining operations, has been set in motion with the relevant department.
The seized vehicles were found to be in direct violation of environmental regulations, posing a serious threat to the local ecosystem. Dr. Kumar stressed that the exploitation of natural resources through illegal mining will not be tolerated by law enforcement.He further stated that vehicle owners and operators involved in illegal mining activities will face the cancellation of their vehicle registrations.
Dr. Kumar underscored the implementation of swift and stringent measures to ensure the prompt removal of these vehicles from circulation. This approach reflects the commitment of the authorities to preserve the environment and uphold legal norms in the region, as stated by SSP Jammu, Dr. Vinod Kumar.
