Initially considering bids from Samsung, BOE, and Tianma, Apple appears to have selected BOE as the primary supplier, following Samsung’s withdrawal from the bidding process over feasibility issues.

While Samsung Display quoted a higher price range for each display unit, Chinese companies, including BOE, proposed a lower cost.
