Indian security forces, including the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and intelligence agencies, successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, on October 21, 2023.
Details of the Operation
According to a statement by the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, the operation was named “OP NARASIMHA BHAIRAVA, URI.” Alert troops, in collaboration with the security forces and intelligence agencies, detected and foiled the infiltration bid.During the operation, contact was established with the infiltrating terrorists, leading to a firefight. Subsequently, six pistols and four hand grenades were seized from the infiltrators. The security operation remains ongoing to ensure the safety of the region
