Indian Army Innovates Portable Multi Target Detonation Device
The Indian Army celebrates a significant achievement as it secures a patent for the invention of a Portable Multi Target Detonation Device (WEDC). Major Rajprasad RS from the Corps of Engineers spearheaded the development of this innovative device, marking a notable advancement in military technology.
Enhanced Safety and Efficiency
Major Rajprasad’s invention, the Portable Multi Target Detonation Device, promises to revolutionize demolition operations by offering increased safety and advanced features. Unlike its predecessor, the Exploder Dynamo Capacitor, which had a limited range of 400 meters and operated through a wired system, the WEDC boasts a range of 2.5 kilometers. This microprocessor-based electronic system can be utilized in both wired and wireless modes, providing troops with greater flexibility and efficiency in carrying out demolition tasks.
Key Features and Applications
The Portable Multi Target Detonation Device enables troops to detonate multiple targets selectively, either independently or simultaneously. This versatility proves invaluable in various scenarios, including reserve demolition of enemy targets and the destruction of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from longer ranges. By overcoming the limitations of previous systems and offering enhanced safety measures, the WEDC significantly enhances the capabilities of the Indian Army in executing demolition operations effectively.
