A 104-ft tall national flag was erected by the Indian Army near the LoC in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
The flag, named Azmat-e-Hind, was unfurled by Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, the General Officer Commanding of 15 Corps, at the TCCP, which is close to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The flag-hoisting ceremony was attended by senior Army and civil officials.
The official said that the flag pole symbolized the strength and courage of the people of Karnah Valley, who faced many difficulties from the enemy and nature.
Lt Gen Ghai also launched the Tiranga Cup 2023, a cricket tournament that will last for 23 days from 21st November, at the Shan-e-Tithwal cricket ground.
