    India Boosts Diesel Exports to Bangladesh Through Friendship Pipeline

    Dhaka, Apr 18 (VoM News): has begun receiving an additional 5,000 tonnes of diesel from through the , as part of efforts to ensure steady fuel supply and strengthen energy security.

    According to officials, the latest consignment is being delivered to the , where supply operations resumed on April 16. The depot has been receiving regular shipments, including 8,000 tonnes on April 14 and around 22,000 tonnes during March, taking the total supply between March and mid-April to nearly 30,000 tonnes.

    Further deliveries are already in the pipeline, with an additional 7,000 tonnes expected soon from . Overall, Bangladesh is projected to receive approximately 25,000 tonnes of diesel from India during April alone.

    Authorities said the continued imports via the pipeline are aimed at maintaining uninterrupted fuel availability and stabilising domestic energy supplies. To facilitate smooth distribution, operations at the depot continued even during a public holiday.

    The development underscores the deepening energy cooperation between India and Bangladesh, with cross-border infrastructure such as the Friendship Pipeline playing a key role in ensuring efficient and reliable fuel transportation between the two countries.
