Kishtwar, Aug. 6, 2024: In a poignant ceremony, Kishtwar’s district administration, led by SSP Abdul Qayoom (JKPS) and DC Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS), paid solemn tributes to the martyrs of the J&K Police.
These brave individuals laid down their lives in the relentless fight against terrorism, and this event served as a powerful reminder of their valor and sacrifice.
The ceremony began at the martyrs’ memorial, situated in front of the District Police Office (DPO) Kishtwar. Here, SSP Qayoom, DC Yadav, and the Next of Kin (NOKs) of the fallen heroes gathered to honor the memory of those who had made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation’s security.
Wreaths were laid, and deep respects were offered to these courageous souls. During the event, SSP Qayoom assured the NOKs that the J&K Police remains committed to supporting them, especially in meeting their educational and other life needs.
Following the tribute, the officials initiated a significant environmental endeavor—the “Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam” plantation drive. This initiative, which involves planting a tree for each J&K Police martyr, symbolizes the enduring legacy of their sacrifice.
It also reflects the district administration’s dedication to environmental conservation and community engagement, emphasizing the shared responsibility of both police and the public in national development.
The event concluded with a special felicitation of the martyrs’ families. SSP Qayoom and DC Yadav presented tokens of appreciation to the NOKs, reinforcing a sense of community and solidarity.
This gesture was a heartfelt acknowledgment of their resilience and the collective respect the community holds for their sacrifice.
