Himachal Pradesh CM Reaffirms Fulfillment of Promises and State’s Revival
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reaffirmed the commitment to fulfilling all assurances made by the Congress party in the state over the next four years. Speaking on the completion of one year of governance, Sukhu highlighted the systematic implementation of various guarantees laid out by the party.
He emphasized the successful execution of the old pension scheme for government employees and the initiation of a start-up scheme amounting to Rs 680 crore, fulfilling two of the guarantees. Additionally, the launch of English-medium schools was cited as evidence of the party’s commitment to fulfilling its promises systematically.
Sukhu asserted the stability of the state’s economy, stating that it has recovered by 20 percent, particularly after the challenges posed by the monsoon-related devastation. The Congress had campaigned on ten guarantees during the Assembly elections, with the reinstatement of the old pension scheme being a significant electoral promise.
Highlighting environmental initiatives, Sukhu expressed the goal of transforming Himachal Pradesh into a ‘green state’ by 2026, citing the adoption of electrical transport and the promotion of e-taxis among the youth.
He also assured the complete revival of the state from the aftermath of the disaster, emphasizing the restoration of roads and the readiness to provide proper accommodations to tourists, signaling readiness to welcome tourists by 2024.
Celebrating its one-year anniversary in Himachal Pradesh, the Congress Party, which secured 40 out of 68 seats in the 2022 Assembly elections, reiterated its commitment to fulfilling electoral promises and reviving the state’s economy and infrastructure.
