Haryana Government Raises Dearness Allowance for Employees and Pensioners
The Haryana Government announced a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees, pensioners, and family pensioners, effective from January 1, 2024.
Revised Rates and Payment Schedule
The DA, raised from 46% to 50%, will reflect in the March 2024 salaries of government employees, with arrears for January and February to be disbursed in May.
Dearness Relief for Pensioners
Pensioners and family pensioners will also receive Dearness Relief (DR) from January 1, 2024, with the DR included in their March 2024 pension/family pension, payable in April 2024. Arrears for January and February 2024 will be paid in May 2024.
The decision, coming merely three days after Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini’s government formation, underscores the administration’s swift action towards welfare initiatives.
Leadership Transition and Assurance
Saini, succeeding former CM Manohar Lal Khattar, secured victory in the floor test during a special state assembly session. His oath-taking ceremony witnessed the presence of prominent BJP leaders and independent MLA Ranjit Singh.
Commitment to Governance
Highlighting the BJP-led government’s stability, Saini assured a collective support of 48 MLAs and initiated proceedings for a floor test, signaling a commitment to efficient governance.
